Your account will help you manage your lease flexibly, you can start your application from the comfort of your own home and make changes, such as adding named drivers. You can also track the status of your application and access your PIN, and also get payments quicker via bank transfer, such as the good condition payment. A Carer is very important for the disabled person and helps keep their freedom of mobility. It’s important to remember that as they have not been assigned by the DWP or Veterans UK that they cannot place an application on behalf of the disabled person, however they can help them choose a suitable car and apply to join the Motability Scheme. 

What is an Appointee and their role?

An appointee may be needed when the disabled person is under 16 years old or unable to look after their own affairs. Appointees are solely responsible for collecting state benefits for the disabled person and for deciding how they are used. They are assigned by the Department for Work and Pensions.You would be the hirer of the Motability Scheme vehicle and legally responsible for the lease agreement, on behalf of the disabled person. It’s therefore your responsibility to ensure that the Scheme car is used for the right purpose and that the disabled person has full access to it. You also take full responsibility for any outstanding monies for the Scheme lease agreement.
