Superb service

Bought a VW up! here last week. Great service given by Matt Angell, couldn’t fault him at all. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the interaction I had in the dealership with Dion Eastwick was unpleasant. He was rude and pushy and talked to the male I was with about my purchasing a product rather than talking to me directly, despite me sitting in front of him. He referred to me as “she” as though I was not there and was debating whether I would use the product with my friend even though I had told him I wouldn’t. I might be female and not a car salesman but if I say I won’t use something and don’t not want to buy it, I expect to be heard. I also reached out via email for help twice with Dion and both emails went unanswered. Had I not been greeted and helped and listened too so well by Matt Angell, I wouldn’t have purchased my car here due to Dion’s manner and would have bought elsewhere.

Michael Stephenson was helpful, thorough and professional. He worked with us to get us what we needed within our budget and kept us informed every step of the process until we received of our vehicle.

Prior to searching for a used VW Golf R, I had been in touch with Inchcape VW before, possibly April 2020. The website advertised a PCP deal on a new Golf R. Naturally I requested a test drive, loved the car but when I sat with the sales exec, I was told that this deal wasn't available as there were no new Golfs being made. As you can imagine, I was pretty annoyed and left, adamant I'd never engage with the Inchcape group again. I was more annoyed that even after this, the advert remained on the website. A good friend of my mine who has had three consecutive cars from Inchcape Shrewsbury urged me to try again. I found a used car on the website on the Saturday and picked it up on the Friday after. From start to finish, John Fuller was brilliant. Clearly an experienced and accomplished salesman, he knew how to deliver customer value and manage expectations. I was so impressed with him and his approach to customer service and sales. John's commitment to seeing the deal over the line is exemplary and I know he went above and beyond during a time when it's difficult for people to carry out their jobs because of the COVID risks. John completely restored my faith and I have no doubt, I'll return to trade my car in and by a brand new Golf R Mk 8 when they are available. The only blemish is that the advert for the car was incorrect. The used Golf R I purchased was advertised with the Performance Pack (a £3k option). It didn't have this. But I knew this when I got in touch as I could see it from the pics, even though the pics were pretty awful. Some others might not be so understanding. I know some of this stuff may seem minor but considering most people start the buying process online, what you say and do online is vital in getting someone through the door.

Had a great experience. The sales man Brad listened to us - finding the perfect car for our budget and desire to have a high spec car. Will be highly recommending Shrewsbury Inchcape to Friends and Family.

I recently purchased a second hand Tiguan R-Line 4motion Bitdi 24, Bradley Hughes was the sales man who I dealt with throughout, fair play he was more than helpful first class service.
