I've decided to get a Mercedes. I found one at Mercedes-Benz of Coventry. I went there, had a quick chat, and was able to have a test drive. Lovely. I did notice some paint and alloy wheel issues, but I was told that all of that would be sorted. So, I decided to go for it. After a few emails back and forth, some documentation, and a set delivery date, everything seemed great. On delivery, I checked everything outside - paint and alloy wheels - and that was fairly sorted. Unfortunately, I did not check the inside of the car before the delivery team went back to Coventry. The state of the car inside was terrible. The valeting job was done terribly; there were stains on the seats and on the headlining. In general, it was filthy. When I went for a ride, I noticed two more things. First, I think there was a problem with traction, as to drive in a straight line, I had to keep the steering wheel turned left. How on earth did the person who delivered the car to me not notice this? Second, the centre of the steering wheel (airbag cover?) had a massive gap on one side and was pushed in on the other side. Again, how was this not noticed? I immediately sent an email but didn't receive any response. So, on Monday at midday, I went to see someone at Mercedes-Benz of Coventry. I believe Pete was the one who helped me with everything; he was the one who, when he had time, approached me and tried to update me about all the progress. After three hours of waiting, he asked me if anyone had told me that my car was ready; apparently, the car had been ready for the last 20-30 minutes. But no one bothered to let me know about it. That is not how the Mercedes experience should look like. My wife got her used Mercedes from Mercedes Birmingham, and oh my goodness, the car was prepared to the highest standard I have ever seen. So, Pete, once again, thank you for your help with everything. There were a few other things, but the review is too long anyway. So now, will I ever go back and buy another car from Mercedes-Benz of Coventry? Definitely not. Would I ever recommend this place to anyone? No
