The Land Rover approved used vehicle scheme

As Land Rover prides itself on the ability of its off-terrain vehicles, the quality of its Approved Used scheme needs to be of the highest standard.

A Land Rover vehicle is designed to tackle the very worst of terrain, so a car may well have been used in exactly that manner. In order for a second owner to get the same use, a used Land Rover needs to be in best possible condition - and this is where the Approved Used Vehicle scheme comes into play.

First Land Rover conducts a comprehensive multi-point inspection. The checklist, consisting of 165 points, makes sure that the vehicle is electrically and mechanically up to the highest standard using cutting-edge technologies, tools and diagnostic apparatus. The bodywork is also made sure to be in pristine condition.

Every Land Rover undertakes a road test to ensure it is at its best. The data is monitored by engineers who look at the suspension, braking, engine performance and transmission, amongst a comprehensive analysis of the car's array of systems. The tests ensure that the vehicle is good enough to be Approved Used standard.

Should work be required to restore the vehicle to health, it will be conducted by the finest, trained Land Rover engineers and technicians, with only genuine Land Rover parts used. So long as the vehicle is under 5 years old and has completed 100,000 miles, it is then eligible for a two year, unlimited mileage warranty.

In addition, all Approved used cars come with a MOT test warranty. This means that when it comes to the first MOT, Land Rover will pay for anything that needs fixing up to £750 (with a £50 excess), should the car fail its test.

For two years, all customers can enjoy Land Rover Assistance should a problem occur. This includes breakdown cover and even help for minor mishaps such as puncture repair. The service prepares for every outcome, and provides assistance for home starts, a hire car, vehicle redelivery and accommodation if it is needed.

Much like most vehicles, the history is important, so all Approved used Land Rovers come with Independent Verified Mileage and a Certified Ownership History to safeguard that there is no outstanding finance and the car has not been stolen.

There's also a part exchange program and everyone who purchases an Approved used vehicle will be invited to participate in a complementary half day Land Rover Experience event at one of the centres located throughout the UK - so you can get as much out of your car as the first owners did!
