What we're up to
In the build-up to the big day, we’re working with local food banks to help ‘fill their boots’ with food donations this Christmas. We have already received generous donations from our fellow Inchcape colleagues, our friends and families, as well as from other businesses in the local area – and now we’re calling upon you, friends of Inchcape!
Why it's so important
Christmas is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year; a time for joy and celebration. However, not everyone is as lucky as we are. Over the festive period, it is expected that more people than ever will have to visit a food bank for supplies.
With around 2,000 of them in the UK, food banks are an essential part of our communities for so many families. The number of supplies distributed has increased by 73% in the last five years alone, as the level of poverty in our country continues to rise.
Many people barely have enough money to make ends meet each week, so when Christmas comes around, they can’t indulge in all the trimmings like we do. Therefore, in the spirit of Christmas, we want to lend a hand to add some much-needed festive cheer to their lives.
How you can help us
We are asking for your generosity and support to help us ‘fill our boots’ – or more specifically, the boots of our Toyota and Lexus vehicles. You can pop into any of our Toyota or Lexus showrooms with non-perishable food donations, grab a coffee, and add your contribution to the boot of our food bank car.
On Friday 20th December, the teams will be delivering all the food we’ve collected to local food banks to ensure that families less fortunate are able to eat during the festive period.
